During a coolant change, and needing to drain the reservior, do not pull the shock to access the coolant reservior. The coolant overflow hose at the righthand radiator filler neck connects to the bottom of the coolant reservior. Disconnect it at the hose splice, a few inches from the filler neck, and snake it out to the bottom of the bike.
